Beanie Fest June 2011

So last year when Mum and I drove to Darwin, we saw this thing called the Beanie Fest advertised and thought it sounded like fun. As we did not have time to get down to Alice Springs and back before I had to start work we decided to come back in 2011.

So the Beanie Fest is what it is. A four day weekend dedicated to Beanies, and Alice Springs in June is cold..... ok no it was FREEZING....... -2 the first morning

And that we did... go that is.

Mum and I both made beanies, I only managed one as mine was very time consuming. Mum entered two. Both very cute BTW.

This is my bag, not to happy with the outcome.

Mum's bag however, looked good.
Mum working hard, rocking out in her funky hat too. Ben and Joanne did well out of this workshop, they got the bags.

So much other stuff happened this weekend, my beanie sold with in the first 20 minutes of gallery opening. All that hard work and some one fell in love with it just as much as I did. Mum's beanies sold on the Saturday. We did a few other workshops, and ate some great food.

After the fun and games we did some tours around Alice. Stay tuned for those photo's

Aloomba Creek and the toes of camera holder... He did have a great time snapping away at everything and anything. I have ended up with about 150 photos in all... but I recon I have deleted just as many to make room on camera for more.

Yes, I forgot about these photo's from Christmas when Mum and Dad came to visit. This is Wangi Falls down at Litchfield. It was closed for swimming due to it being flooded. Sorry! you have to tilt your head for this one.

the above photo is the top of the falls, Mum and I walked up and over the falls and down the other side. This is as close as you get to the top of them.

From the top, if you look really close right through the trees, that little silver spec... no not the big one the really small, small one... yep got it that my car and Dad waiting for Mum and I to return so we can have lunch and a coffee.....

Oh yeah and this is the storm coming....
