Tuesday

Tuesday/ the start of Wednesday

Not much to report...

Oh yeah there is sunshine lots and lots of sunshine. So much sunshine in fact we all have sorts and t-shirts on!!

We packed up from the Devils Marbles with all the plans to get to Newcastle Waters, but first we have a bit of a drive. It was to say the least a boring day. Now I might get in trouble for saying I was bored, when we where kids if we told mum we where bored we got offered jobs like weeding and washing and mowing... It's not like she could have given me these jobs yesterday but I'm sure she might have made me play I spy or something just a naff.

Anyway, there was a lot of build up getting to Tennant Creek. Mum and dad had been here 20 years ago and I was told there was corrugated iron fence on both sides of the road for about 20km either side of town and all that was bend it was green and gold... Cans of course, VB cans. So I was prepared for the worst. I have to tell you I was surprised, no fence and not cans! The town was dirty but not like Todd Mall in Alice, and there was rubbish but not like some of the free camping spots we've been to. I was even pleasantly surprised at the public toilet... Although there was no toilet paper it was pretty clean. We just had a quick walk down town found the post office to post mail, then back to the car for fuel and back on the road.

The next town is Elliott, last time I was here three years ago on my drive to Darwin I had to fill up with fuel and o took mum to wait with the car. It was a get out and fill up as quick as I could and get out! Not a nice place at all. So knowing we did to want to stop there we found Newcastle Waters in the camps book and dad spoke to the ranger the night before and he gave directions. So thinking we had it sorted, just after Elliott there was a turn off. We took the wrong one. The second one we tried was also wrong... So we ended up at Dunmarra a highway stop with a caravan park if you can call it that!

Mum and I stayed here three years ago in tents and we where right up the back, this time we are closer to the road house and the highway. And jammed in like sardines. It was nice and warm tho, we sat outside until dinner was ready and then again after dinner. This was nice as we have not been able to do this in a few weeks.

But this morning was a totally different story, not the weather it's still perfect. I just don't understand why people need to pack up at 5am. Packing up a caravan is not something you can do quietly no my friends you can not. Some (more than one) dick head was packed up and on the road by 5.15am this morning. And then you've got the dick head truck driver who starts his not so quiet truck at 5.30am and leaves it running in the car park for an hour... I'll fully admit I don't know much about trucks but I am dam sure they don't take an hour to warm up before you can drive them!! Anyway I've been up for a while this morning. We are currently on the road to Edith Falls.

Until I am in reception again. Wait I see a tower in the distance... Maybe I'll have reception soon.

....... Waiting ........ Waiting....................... Waiting...
