Update..... How to update you this far....
I'll call this day one of holidays.
Today started with a nice little sleep in. A few jobs to get done after breakfast before for leaving to the airport.
So the bike is in the baggage hull and I am sitting on the plane about 1/2 way to Adelaide. Happy to say I didn't have any drama with my bike and getting on the plane. My bike and its box is all the luggage I have.... Well apart from the bag that went on the truck last week. But to save buying extra baggage. I took bike as my bag.... Patrick said he though the box weighed 12-15kg the bike shop (who packed it) said 16-18.... When putting on scales at check in...... 20.02..... Lucky! Allowance is 23kg so I could have jammed some more stuff in the box.... But I do also have two bits of hand luggage, so I thought I might be pushing my luck with that... Like always I think I have packed far too much stuff and then think at last minute... (Crap I don't have that...) oh well at least there is shop in Adelaide. And I guess I can put some stuff in the caravan with dad until after the ride... I really only need riding stuff for the first 4 days....
The flight has been good so far. Mind you I should have checked my ticket better. I like a window seat... So when my ticket had 24D I was cool... Window.... No! When I get on board the plane is three seat either side so D is an aisle seat.... Bugger I thought. I'll wait and see how full the flight is.... It was looking really good, no one in row to my left and no one yet in the seats to my right. As the flow of traffic is getting lighter and lighter I think my luck my have changed and I might get to move.... No last guy on the plane just happens to be in my MY window seat and won't swap.... Oh we'll.... Guess it gave me time to update the blog and emails that have been lacking.
I am looking forward to getting to Adelaide in about an hour from writing this. (As this will be posted after I land) I haven't seen my parents in 12 months. And the cousin we are staying with I haven't seen since her baby was a few months old... He's 3 1/2 now...
I am also looking forward to seeing Adelaide again. I have been here before but about 9-10 years ago... We are going to do the Haiges chocolate tour.... I have also been told of a few other chocolate shops to go to... I think I might have to unpack the bike first thing so I can ride to all these places, then I won't feel too guilty about eating too much bad (good) food!
Ok so day one of holidays so far gets a tick.
Come back tomorrow for another update.
P.S.
I'm also doing #postcardsfromstrangers while away. If you want a post card sent from the road/ride send me a name and address and ill send the a post card.
